Free arcade and 8-bit sound effects
The collection covers coins, jumps, pickups, alarms and fanfares. The sounds use square waves and fast pitch slides with no room sound, the way old consoles built them. Each sound opens in the editor with every setting in view, ready to shape into a sound for your own game. Your AI agent designs the coin, jump or victory fanfare your game is missing and returns it as an editor link for more tuning.

Sounds from an AI assistant
Notify Sound works as an MCP server for AI assistants. The assistant designs every layer of a sound and returns a link. The link opens that sound in the editor.

The assistant takes a plain request like this one, once Notify Sound is connected.
Use Notify Sound to make a coin pickup for my platformer, bright and square-wave like an old console. Send me the link.
8-bit sounds for Unity, Godot, GameMaker and Scratch games
This set covers the core sounds of a game jam entry: coins, jumps, hits, power-ups, game over and level complete. The sounds are royalty-free and free for commercial use with credit, including in a game you sell.
Retro sound effects for TikTok and YouTube edits
Bonus Coin fits a price tag, and Game Over goes under a fail clip. Level Complete suits the reveal in a before and after. Every sound is made with a synth, with no samples from a real game.
Arcade alerts for Twitch streams
Extra Life greets a new follower, and Coin Insert thanks a donation. Boss Alarm announces a raid.
A coin or a power-up as your iPhone or Android notification
Secret Found works as a message tone on an iPhone or an Android phone, and Power Pellet fits a payment alert. Move the Pitch slider to make either one your own.
Shaping an 8-bit sound
What makes a sound 8-bit?
Set Wave shape to square, keep every note short, and leave the effect on None. Pick Crunch for a rough edge. Old sound chips could do little more than that.
How is the coin sound made?
Bonus Coin is two square notes. The first plays at 988 Hz. The second plays at 1,319 Hz, starts 0.05 seconds later and rings a little longer. Raise the second Pitch for a bigger prize.
How is the jump sound made?
Jump is one square note at 330 Hz with Slide set to 19. The Slide lifts the pitch more than an octave while the note plays. A negative Slide turns the jump into a fall.
Make your own sounds
- Stack layers of tone or noise and shape each one with its own sliders.
- Change pitch, length, echo and tone while the sound loops, so you hear every move.
- Save to your library, share a link, and download the sound when it sounds right.
